Lot Details

Completed in 2010, this untitled rubber on linen typifies Ned Vena’s characteristic reinterpretation of Minimalism, Abstraction, and Op-Art. At once imposing and meditative, smudges on the on the work’s black surface produce a visceral quality and serve as a reminder of the artist’s touch. Subtle tonal gradations throughout the composition create the sense of movement and light, and underscore the artist’s focus on form, process, and concept through both precision and chance.
