Born in Peru (1891), Martin Chambi has been recognized as the first and most prolific Latin American photographer to reach international recognition. Martin reveals the social complexities of his native people through these fascinating, vivid black and white photographs. His work has been widely exhibited in museums such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Recontres d’Arles, and the Centre National de la Photographie at the Palais de Tokyo.
