This classic Innerst painting from 1995 captures the urban industrial landscape that he has become identified with. This is a signature work by Innerst that, while small, is extremely powerful. His framing device alludes to a voyeuristic view of the teaming cityscape.

Mark Innerst was born in 1957, York, Pennsylvania and earned his B.F.A. at Kutztown, Pennsylvania in 1980. Innerst became a landscape painter capturing the sense of movement of the city and buzz of human activity with a unique and interesting perspective. Innerst’s works have been exhibited and worldwide. Public collections include Brooklyn Museum, New York; Chase Manhattan Bank, N.A.; Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York; Indianapolis Museum of Art, Indiana; Los Angeles County Museum of Art, California; Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Museum of Contemporary Art, The Barry Lowen Collection, Los Angeles, California; Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego, California; Museum of Modern Art, New York; and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, Illinois.
