"Okame Hachimoku" (2010) is a dynamic painting by rising star, emerging Japanese artist, Maki Hosokawa. This work measures 25.67 x 35.80 inches (65.2 x 90.9 cm) is unframed and in excellent condition. The artist is gaining international acclaim for her unique narratives that feature young girls in various historical narratives, that each combine Eastern and Western ideology and painting styles in a fresh and singular manner.

Maki Hosokawa was born in Osaka, Japan in 1980 into the generation raised on manga, anime and the Japanese street-art of the early 1990’s. Yet the unexpected influences of Western Impressionist, Renaissance and Dutch Masters are embraced in her oeuvre, which she integrates with elements of Japanese history and painting styles. Her paintings are in top collections throughout Asia and Europe with her paintings sought after on the primary and secondary markets.
