Lot Details

"Find Little Winter" (2009) is an iconic example of the colorful paintings typically filled with cartoonish "Superflat' female figures in surreal narratives by Japanese artist Maki Hosokawa. Maki Hosokawa often revisits classical works from the Impressionist, Renaissance and Dutch masters as well as taking cues from more local Japanese histories. "Finding Little Winter" measures approximately 28.67 x 23.85 inches (72.7 x 60.6 cm), is unframed and in excellent condition.

Maki Hosokawa was born in Osaka, Japan in 1980 into the generation of Japanese artists raised on manga, anime and the Japanese street-art of the early 1990’s. Maki's works are sought after throughout Asia, especially after she was the winner of the GEISAI #6 Award by Takashi Murakami’s company KaiKai KiKi. Note: Seller prefers bank wire transfer as preferred method of payment.
