Lot Details

This sculpture by British artist Lynn Chadwick is a beautiful example of his abstract figure hybrids and is in excellent condition.
Born in London in 1914, Chadwick initially trained in architecture before starting to develop his quintessential metal structures. His popularity took off in the early 1950s and culminated in his appointment as Commander of the British Empire (1964) and French Officier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (1985). Chadwick's legacy as one of the major post-war sculptors continues through his multitude of monumental public commissions and inclusion within the most well-respected collections world-wide.
