American conceptual artist, Louise Lawler (b.1947) is known primarily for her photographic work, often featuring other artists’ work and including their display, which draws attention to the presentation and promotion of art in the West. Lawler earned her BFA from Cornell University in 1969. Her work has been widely exhibited throughout the world since the 1970s, with recent solo shows at Metro Pictures Gallery, New York, NY (2011); Spruth Magers Berlin, Germany (2009); Spruth Magers London, England (2007); BFAS Blondeau Fine Art Services, Geneva, Switzerland (2007); and Yvon Lambert, Paris, France.
