Lot Details

"Red Hand no. 9" is a sought-after painted resin sculpture in the round by Chinese Contemporary artist Liu Bolin. Dimensions: 47.20 inches high (120 cm), from an edition of 16, excellent condition. “Red Hands no 9”, belongs to an iconic series of sculptures started in 2007-2009 by Liu,composed of monochromatic red or white futuristic boys and he plays with the contrast between the use of vivid white and red color, a smooth shiny surface, a positive physical pose (youthful bodies, radiant smiles, arched and energetic positions) and the handicap of blindness. Captured in adolescent naivety, they seem unaware of the world around them.
