This print has letterpress text quoted from Emily Dickinson printed on japanese paper that loops between the ears, which reads: "I heard as if I had no ear, until a vital word came all the way from life to me, and then I knew I heard." The base paper is handmade Richard de Bas.

This is a print from a set which is from one of the artist's first editions. Other proofs of this edition are in the collection of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington, DC among others.
