Chrome-plated tubular steel, pony hide, leather and springs by Le Corbusier (1887-1965). This design is one of a line which the artist (in collaboration with architect Charlotte Perriand and Pierre Jeanneret) present variation on the original 1929 design features screw connections, widened leather arm slings and two metal bars that extend inward to prevent the back rest from fully rotating. General surface wear consistent with age, otherwise in excellent condition.

Charles-Édouard Jeanneret better known as Le Corbusier (Swiss/ French 1887–1965) Born in Switzerland before gaining French citizenship later in life. Le Corbusier adopted his pseudonym in the 1920s, allegedly deriving it in part from the name of an ancestor, "Lecorbésier." Le Corbusier is one of the fathers of Modern architecture and the International Style.
