"New York City Water Tank" (2012) is a stunning realist oil painting by internationally acclaimed Contemporary American painter, John Aquilino, known for his colorful oil paintings that celebrate the urban landscape. This work captures the familiar New York City silhouette of a water tank poised above the rooftops against a bright blue sky, with a composition that is based on flat areas of bright colors and with patterns determined by light and shadows. This painting measures 24 x 36 inches, is in excellent condition, framed and in the artist's white wood frame.

John Aquilino's works all explore and celebrate urban architecture as subject, with his emotional connection to the city environment evident in all of his works, with an admitted love of New York City, where he was born, raised and attended University. The artist received his formal training at New York University (3-D modeling and Animation), The Art Students League, NY (BFA Painting and Drawing), and The School of Visual Arts, NY (MFA in Painting and Drawing). His prestigious corporate and public art commissions include works for The D.C Council on the Arts and Humanities, Washington, DC; The National Association of Home Builders, Washington, DC; Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP, Washington, D.C. He was featured in "New American Paintings," #88, June/July 2010 edition. The artist lives and works in Washington D.C.
