Lot Details

This is a rare early etching from master printmaker Jim Dine. Dine often garners inspiration from artists' tools. This print is the third state of six states, each depicting paintbrushes spaced across the canvas. Dine created many prints depicting on paintbrushes in the early 1970s, as well as other tools such as scissors, pliers and wrenches. The plate measures 20.5 x 27.25 inches (52.1 x 69.2 cm) and the sheet measures 30 x 35.5 inches (76.2 x 90.2 cm).
