Jessica Stockholder (born in 1959, Seattle, WA) is an American conceptual artist. She earned her MFA from Yale University and was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts from the Emily Carr College of Art. As a pioneer of installation art, she used everyday consumer and household objects as her inspiration. Her works have influenced a generation of artists. Stockholder is teaching at Yale University and is the Director and Professor of Graduate Studies in sculpture. Her works have been exhibited at Dia Center for the Arts, New York; the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; P.S. 1, New York; the Venice Biennale; and Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris. She is represented by Mitchell-Innes & Nash in New York.
