"The Blue Project – Ethan and His Blue Things" by Korean artist Yoon JeongMee depicts a young boy in his own bedroom, who poses proudly amidst the massive amount of his blue-colored possessions that have been meticulously displayed and arranged in front of him by the artist. This image belongs to the artist's series "The Blue Project" started in 2005. The visually stunning, staged photographs of "The Blue Project" and "The Pink Project" address the gender specific advertising of toys and accessories which influence the popular culture and traditional roles of girls and boys in global society. Boys train subconsciously and unconsciously to wear the color blue in order to look masculine. Many toys and books for boys are made from the different shades of blue and are related to robots, industry, science, dinosaurs, and the like.
