"No. 36. With Left Jump Comes Fortune", (2006) is one of the most dynamic and jubilant paintings by famed Chinese Contemporary master Huang Yong. This painting is one of Huang's most colorful and excitimng to-date and is a museum-level work. "Left Jump Comes Fortune" features a single figure painted in magenta at the center of the canvas is the subject, whose odd yet dynamic gesture with left leg bent at the knee and one hand held to his face as he stands facing outwards against a green landscape is light-hearted and also explained by the title. The simple yet masterly treatment of the human figure by Huang, breaking the figure down to a very basic sum of parts, allows any desire for identity to be shed, and for basic human feelings and emotions to be transmitted, in this case happiness, hope and expectation. Huang is famous for blurring the lines between representation and abstraction, which always intersect in sophisticated and fresh new ways in his paintings.

Through sophisticated yet subtle applications of paint, and finding the perfect balance between the representational and the abstract, Huang has mastered encapsulating feelings and emotion in a painterly style that is uniquely his own, one that has awarded him international critical acclaim by scholars and collectors alike. The application of paint is specific yet not controlled completely by Huang, who balances lines and mark-making with pools and spills of paint left to create their own shapes and marks. This harmony of line, color, and narrative are the key to the mastery of Huang Yong's paintings, which rarely come to the secondary market.

The paintings of Huang have been the subject of select solo Museum and Fine Art Shows including two solo exhibitions in 2009 "Huang Yong-Exit" at Today Museum, Beijing as well as at the DouLun Museum in Shanghai, China. (B. 1968, Hunan Province, China) received his formal training with a Fine Arts Degree from The Central Academy Of Fine Arts of China in 1990. Currently lives and vice-president for Sculpture at The College of GuangZhou Academy Of Fine Arts in GuangZhou, China.
