In 1987 Frankenthaler was invited to work at Ediciones Poligrafa where she was inspired by the colors, landscapes, and traditions of Spain. La Sardana is named for a traditional dance from Catalonia. The artist has clearly captured the famous Mediterranean blue along with gestures and movements of a circle dance. Beautifully framed with beveled edges, matting, wooden frame, and all original labels from 2002 Christie's London Auction.
