Gaetano Pesce (B. 1939) is an Italian designer and architect whose extensive body of work is recognized for its technologically innovative materials, unbridled use of color, and evocative designs in buildings and furniture. His particular approach to manufacturing materials such as silicone and acrylic resin lend themselves to unique qualities in every individual piece Pesce produces. This sense of individuality in his work is a concept Pesce has always pursued, allowing for each piece to be the same in design but peerless in overall form. Pesce has received numerous awards over the course of his career including the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s Design Excellence Award in 2005 and the Chrysler Design Award in 1993.
