"Sharing Task 2" (2011) is a stunning example of the colorful and dynamic mixed media paintings by internationally acclaimed Bangladeshi artist, Firoz Mahmud, whose works are just now being widely lauded in the West by Museums and Galleries alike. This painting measures 50 x 48 inches (127 x 121.9 cm) and is unframed in excellent condition. Can easily ship world-wide, professionally rolled. The artist is famed for his layering of tranquil colors and his use of a unique Indonesian stenciling technique, typically of repeated patterns which intentionally reference Japanese woodblock prints, as well as Indian illuminated manuscripts. Firoz Mahmud was born in Khulna, Bangladesh and is a multi-media artist. He graduated from received a BFA from Dhaka University, an MFA from Tama Art University and a PhD from Tokyo University of the Arts. He also attended Rijksakademie Van Beeldende Kunsten, Amsterdam. Firoz has been an invited artist in residence in the U.K., the Netherlands, Japan and the US, including at PS. 1 in New York. He presntly lives between the U.S. and Japan. Now he lives and works in New York and Tokyo.
