Measuring over five feet across, this large-scale mixed media triptych by Fernando Ferreira De Araujo belongs to the artist's "Mindscape" series, a set of abstract dreamscapes executed with the expressive brushwork and the fundamentally emotional treatment of color, shadow, and texture that have characterized Ferreira de Araujo's work since the beginning of his career. This piece was featured in the recent exhibition "Mindscape" at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Pernambuco, Brazil. "Mindscape I" measures 30.71 x 66.93 inches (78 x 170 cm), and is unframed.

Fernando Ferreira de Araujo (Brazilian, b. 1962) is a contemporary painter known for his body of abstract expressionist works. Originally focused on textile design, Ferreira de Araujo began his career as a painter in 1989, when two of his paintings were selected for exhibition by the Museum do Estado de Pernambuco in Brazil, as part of the "Salão de Novos" competition. After moving briefly to São Paulo, Ferreira de Araujo emerged on the international art scene in 2003, participating in several solo and group exhibitions in the United States and Europe. Shortly thereafter, the artist settled permanently in New York, attending the Art Students League of New York and opening a studio in Manhattan. In 2010, Ferreira de Araujo was named by Vogue Magazine and the Brazil Foundation as one of the most influential Brazilians in New York, in recognition of his career achievements and his artwork's strong presence in the international market. He lives and works in New York and São Paulo.
