Lot Details

Artwork measures 32 x 32 inches (81.3 x 81.3 cm).

This 2008 print belongs to Feng Zhengjie’s Chinese Portrait series, in which the artist depicts glamorous, well-coiffed women who resemble commercial models in every way except for their startlingly dislocated pupils. The neon coloring and kitsch style of Feng’s portraits form direct references to Andy Warhol’s iconic celebrity portraiture. Feng’s portraits also act as a critique of globalized consumer culture and its relationship to identity and individualism. This work comes from an edition of 200; it is unframed and in excellent condition.
