Lot Details

A unique work by Faile, this acrylic, silkscreen ink and spay-paint on paper is a classic work by the urban collective dating to 2006. It is framed and in mint condition.

Faile is a collaborative artistic duo comprised of Patrick McNeil and Patrick Miller since 1999. Their pioneering use of wheatpasting and stenciling in the increasingly established arena of street art has allowed them to achieve global recognition. Through their work, Faile explores duality through a fragmented style of appropriation and collage, driven by themes of mass culture-driven iconography. They work in a wide array of media, from wooden boxes and window pallets to more traditional canvas, prints, sculptures, stencils, multimedia installation, and prayer wheels. While Faile's work is constructed from found visual imagery, and blurs the line between “high” and “low” culture, recent exhibitions demonstrate a sustained emphasis on audience participation, a sharpened critique of consumerism, and the incorporation of religious media and architecture into their work.
