Lot Details

A particularly strong, and rarely available, original (spray paint on canvas) from Ben Eine's sell out US solo show at White Walls Gallery, San Francisco. This is a unique work and measures 140cm wide by 30 cm high. Certificate of authenticity included.

Born Ben Flynn, London-based street artist Eine (b.1970) made a name for himself as a screen printer for Pictures On Walls, where he hand crafted prints for POW represented artists such as Banksy. Noted for his expert use of color, Eine burst onto the commercial graffiti scene in 2008 with his vibrant alphabet letters, painted mainly on the shutters of shops throughout London, and was named one of the six best new London street artists by Time Out magazine. Eine developed his own distinct lettering style, which he has painted throughout the streets of major cities throughout the world, including Los Angeles, Paris, Tokyo, and Stockholm. In 2011, he was included in the seminal exhibition ‘Art in the Streets’ at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, CA. His work has also been the subject of solo shows at White Walls, San Francisco, CA (2011); Carmichael Gallery, Los Angeles, CA (2009); Nelly Duff, London, England (2009); and Electric Sheep Gallery, Newcastle, England (2006).
