Lot Details

Lithograph on paper overlaid with color screenprint on Plexiglas, created between 1984-1986. The artist's original hand-painted frame measures 28.25 x 45.75 inches (71.8 x 116.2 cm).

Part of his Moving Focus series, this print reflects David Hockney's exploration of the nature of human vision by depicting two chairs and a vase of flowers from a variety of perspectives. Visually engaging and infused light and movement, “Walking Past Two Chairs” is an excellent example of his experiments with Cubism.
