"Stop Staring at Me" (2010) is a rare and dynamic painted bronze sculpture in the round by one of China's top Contemporary sculptors working today, Chen Wenling (China, b. 1969). Such smiling red figural works are his most iconic and internationally sought after, from his lauded “Red Boy”series. This work combines both realism and Chinese "gaudy' art, but are considered unique to the oeuvre of Chen in their autobiographical manner. A diverse range of emotions, including dread, gladness, humor and irony are the main motivations for this series, according to Chen. This work is edition 137/300, in excellent condition and measures approximately 18.89 x 7.5 x 6.1 inches (48 x 19.1 x 15.5 cm).
