Lot Details

This sublime untitled oil and cold wax painting by post-Modern American artist Bill Fisher (B. Buffalo, NY, US, 1957) is a quietly powerful example of Fisher's assured abstract paintings. This work measures 36 x 36 x 2 inches and is unframed and in excellent condition. The confluence in this work of a bold and colorful shapes, that are tempered by the meditative blue background is Fisher at his best. Fisher's oeuvre combines his experiences of living and painting in New York City in the 1980's, his interest in street art, and the admitted influence of artists he was known, such as Guston, Basquiat and Twombly.

Bill Fisher (B. Buffalo, NY, US, 1957) is represented in New York by the prestigious O.K. It was Karp who discovered Fisher's work nearly 10 years ago and signed him immediately.
