Lot Details

"Red Dot" (2013) is one of the most exciting and fresh examples of American post-Modern artist Bill Fisher's rigorous thematic vocabulary and naive painting style, inspired his experience of living and painting in New York City in the 1980s, alongsie Basqiat and Haring. This painting on panel measures 48 x 48 inches (121.9 x 121.0 cm), is unframed and in excellent condition.
Fisher's work was discovered by Ivan Karp narly two decades ago, the legendary director of the Leo Castelli Gallery, NY who now runs O.K. Harris Gallery, where the artist is formally represented. Fisher's abstract paintings were the subject of a six-month solo exhibition at The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts-Richmond, in 2010-2011.
