Famous for his elaborately constructed "mise en scene" photography, Bernard Faucon (b. 1950) has inspired a generation of artists, writers, fashion designers, and filmmakers with his unique style. Blending images of the natural and the surreal with vibrancy and color, Bernard Faucon's work often evokes scenes of a romanticized childhood.

Since 1977, there have been more than 300 solo exhibitions of Bernard Faucon's work throughout Western Europe, the United States, and Japan. In 2006 he had his first complete Retrospective at Maison Europenne de la Photographie in Paris.

Bernard Faucon has had nearly 250 solo exhibitions and group shows, from Leo Castelli in New York City to Yvon Lambert in Paris, and as well innumerable one man and group shows in museums worldwide. He is also represented in numerous public and private collections, and there is an extensive critical literature about him, most notably by Roland Barthes.

Bernard Faucon decided in 1995 to suspend his own photographic work.
