Arthur Leipzig started his career with the Photo League of the 1940s to later become a freelance photojournalist, traveling on assignments around the world and contributing work to such periodicals as The Sunday New York Times, This Week, Fortune, Look, and Parade. Encouraged by Edward Steichen to teach, the Brooklyn-born Leipzig has been a Professor at Long Island University for the past 28 years. Leipzig’s work is included in many museums including the Museum of Modern Art; the Metropolitan Museum of Art; the National Portrait Gallery; and the Jewish Museum.
