With her orange hair appearing almost like a halo against a sky-blue background, this version of Marilyn is one of the most unusual, as Warhol abstracts Marilyn's iconic image into something almost unrecognizable. The artist's brilliant commentary on the deformation of images through mass production via the media is still resonant today, even more so with the advent of online image proliferation. This is a beautiful example of the print, with very good color.

During the 1960s, Andy Warhol began to explore the iconic status of such notable personalities as Marilyn Monroe. This is the artist's most famous subject, which defined both the artist and the Pop movement.
