Lot Details

This work, which displays the rich opulence of the Grand Palace in Saint Petersburg, is from Andrew Moore's 2003 series entitled "Russia." The intricately carved gold frame is repeated in what appears to be a long corridor with many doorways, which Moore allows the viewer to glimpse through the mirror reflection. The portraits, which must number in the thousands, are incredibly varied in the facial expressions and dress of the sitters, who all appear to be women. This detail shot of a clearly impressive room leaves the viewer wanted to see more through the photographer's eyes.

Image size is 50 x 40 inches (127 x 101.6 cm). Mounted to aluminum; unframed. The frame for this work can be purchased from the consignor for an additional amount.
