Framed in an ebony wood frame.

Born and raised in Scotland, Albert Watson (b.1942) studied at the Royal College of Art in London before moving to Los Angeles in 1970 on a traveling scholarship. Since then, he has become one of the world’s most celebrated and sought-after fashion and commercial photographers and in 2010 he was awarded The Royal Photographic Society's Centenary Medal. Watson was the official Royal Photographer for Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s wedding. He has shot over 250 covers for Vogue and countless other publications, including Rolling Stone, Time, and The Face, many of which, portraits of celebrities, including Jack Nicholson, Mike Tyson, and Alfred Hitchcock. Watson has also directed many commercial campaigns from Levi’s to Chanel and now spends about much of his time making TV commercials through his company Cyclops (in reference to the artist’s one remaining eye). Whether in his own art or in his commercial work, Watson always uses his highly personal point of view and technical precision to achieve his highly recognizable style. Recent solo exhibitions of his work have been put on by Kahmann Gallery, Amsterdam, Netherlands (2011); Fotografiska, Stockholm, Sweden (2011); Hasted Kraeutler Gallery, New York, NY (2010); and Hartmann Gallery, Barcelona, Spain (2010).
