"Kinoc (Boy in Orange and Green)" (2011) a poignant oil and mixed media painting on wood panel by Contemporary African artist Aimé Mpané (Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, 1968). This painting measures 12.5 x 12 inches (31.8 x 30.5 cm) is unframed and in excellent condition. Easily ships world-wide. These Pop-Art colors are in deliberate contrast to the visceral nature in which the artist has carved into the wooden surface, leaving the boy's unpainted, features hewn from the panel itself. This work belongs to a larger series of intimate portraits by the artist that are are typically acquired in pairs or groups. The Brooklyn Museum recently acquired a large grouping of these portraits.
