  January: "artnet Gossip"

The next big youthquake of 2009 is the provocatively titled Younger than Jesus, a new international triennial opening at the New Museum on Apr. 8, 2009.
  February: "artnet Gossip"

Behind the scenes, the 170 members of the gold-label Art Dealers Association of America bitch and moan about the byzantine selection process for the much-anticipated Art Show at the Park Avenue Armory, Feb. 19-24, 2009, which always seems to ensure prime exhibition space for the major players, leaving many B-level ADAA members out in the cold.
  March: "artnet Gossip"

If we learned anything from the $480-million Yves Saint Laurent-Pierre Bergé sale at Christie's Paris on Feb. 23-25, 2009, it’s that the decorative arts have entered the big time as a collectible category.
  April: "artnet Gossip"

The fascinating new sale from artnet Online Auctions focuses entirely on the New York School, offering an impressive total of 60 paintings by 50 artists.
  May: "artnet Gossip"

Early in May, supercollector Peter Brant unveiled his new Brant Foundation Art Study Center, housed in a refurbished 19th-century stone barn next to his polo grounds in Greenwich, Conn. -- though it doesn't seem all that geared to "study," as no wall labels or checklist were on hand, nor were visitors allowed to take pictures.
  June: "artnet Gossip"

An astonishing gathering of 300 luminaries from the worlds of fashion, film, music, politics, sports, arts and literature can be found right now at artnet Auctions in "Icons: 20th-21st Century Photographic Portraits," June 15-25, 2009.
  July: "artnet Gossip"

"Street Art" -- work by Banksy, Faile, Shepard Fairey, Swoon and others -- will go down in history as the first big art movement of the 21st century.
  August: "artnet Gossip"

It's August, and you can feel with your bare feet the water, the sand or maybe the cool green grass and clover. You're on vacation. It's time, then, to think about September, when the whole art world starts up again and crashes down on your head with a big rattle and bang.
  September: "artnet Gossip"

Listen, this month artnet Auctions has its biggest print sale ever. Both of the top lots in the Prints Masterworks Auction are by Andy Warhol, and both come with a touch of sadness, since their subjects have just passed away. But art lives!
