The Wednesday afternoon preview for
Art Basel Miami Beach, Dec. 6-9, 2007, got off to a disconcerting start when overvigilant guards at the entryway insisted that visitors check their cameras (while saying nothing about ubiquitous photo-taking cell phones). Once inside, the odd rule proved meaningless, as enforcement was nonexistent.
