The Museum of Modern Art has turned its building into an outdoor multiplex for Doug Aitken’s popular new Sleepwalkers video, which presents picaresque "tales of the city" as a multimedia spectacle on a drive-in-theater scale. On view Jan. 16-Feb. 10, 2007, daily from 5 pm to 10 pm, the five narratives are each 13 minutes long, projected continuously in different combinations on six different facades of the building. Admission to the MoMA garden is free -- though don’t expect to get into the building to use the bathroom. A trailer and stills are viewable online.
