In the turbulent traditional fair world, the inaugural
Metro Fair at the
Metropolitan Pavilion, Jan. 17-22, 2012, has pulled off a coup of sorts. It morphed from a folk art fair known as the
American Antiques Show, or TAAS, which was organized by the
American Folk Art Museum, into a new creation that blends folk art, design, tribal art and fine art, too, all wrapped up in a single event during
Americana Week.
