Fountain Art Fair
A couple of camo Humvees were parked on Lexington Avenue outside the 69th Regiment Armory, giving a jaunty pop air to the already supersized pop festival known as the Fountain Art Fair, Mar. 9-11, 2012. Among the fair’s 60 exhibitors were plenty of independent artists, many of them of the Street Art variety, as well as several scrappy Brooklyn galleries, giving the goings-on a distinct DIY feel. Exhibitors included 5 Pointz Art Space, Bushwick Gallery, curcioprojects, Evo Love, Front Room Gallery, Kesting / Ray, Lambert Fine Arts, Mighty Tanaka and the Marketplace Gallery. Looming over the floor like a pagan god was a giant inflatable pink bunny by artist Ryan Cronin.
