YVON LAMBERT TO RETIRE, CLOSE NEW YORK GALLERY
Apr. 28, 2011French art dealer Yvon Lambert is retiring after 45 years in the business, closing the New York gallery and turning the Paris operation over to his protégé Olivier Bélot [pictured]. The final show in New York, "Play Time," May 20-June 4, 2011, is a group show designed as a celebratory good-bye and featuring a selection of works by the New York artists affiliated with the gallery -- which opened in 2003 -- including Robert Barry, Shinique Smithand Nick van Woert. The Collection Lambert in Avignon is currently celebrating its 10th anniversary with "I Believe in Miracles," Dec. 12, 2010-May 8, 2011.
