President Barack Obama has asked to borrow the famous Norman Rockwell painting The Problem We All Live With from the Norman Rockwell Museum to hang at the White House through Oct. 31, 2011. The painting depicts six-year-old Ruby Bridges as she walks with four white men into an integrating New Orleans school in the 1960s, a racial slur smeared on the wall behind her. The work, originally published on a 1964 Look magazine cover, is to be displayed as part of a commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights-defining event, the AP reports.
