Inching its sales back up to $4.5 million last year, Art Moscow, Sept. 21-25, 2011, the biggest contemporary art fair in Eastern Europe, is vying to get back to its pre-2009 figures with this year’s fair, exhibiting nearly 50 galleries, most of them Russian. Among the highlights of the 15th annual event, taking place at the Central House of Artists, are a graduate exhibition from the Institute of Contemporary Art-Moscow, a film installation on body language, and solo shows from Andreas Golder, Elizaveta Berezovskaya, Patrick K.H., Sergey Kalinin, who will be letting buyers haggle on prices of his portraits of Russian society figures, and Olympia Scarry, who will be observing her show from an online chat room. Participating galleries include White Space Gallery and Salon Vert from London, Black Square Gallery from New York and Moscow’s RuArts, XL Gallery, Krokin Gallery, Art-Kasha and FotoLoft Gallery, among others.
