SEVEN FAIR HEADS TO NY WITH SEVEN ARTISTSApr. 6, 2012
Add one more art fair to the Frieze Week roster in New York this May -- the scrappy warehouse art fair Seven, which previously was mounted only in Miami. Taking place at Pierogi’s project space in Brooklyn, The Boiler, Apr. 28-May 20, 2012, the fair is being called “Seven at Seven” because each of the seven participating galleries is bringing a single artist.
The artists at the upcoming “organically flowing exhibition” are Diana Cooper at Postmasters Gallery, Ben Gocker at P.P.O.W., Hew Locke at Hales Gallery, Emil Lukas at Bravinlee, Dawn Clements at Pierogi, Gil Yefman at Ron Feldman Gallery and Andy Yoder at Winkleman Gallery.
And before you think you’re too busy to add another fair to your list, it’s worth noting that Seven opens the week before Frieze (and lasts almost a month) and, as Postmasters Gallery’s Magda Sawon pointed out on Twitter, “If u can get to Randall’s Island u can go to Bklyn!”
