ANSELM REYLE FOR DIORNov. 29, 2011
It’s not news that the fashion world just loves Art Basel Miami Beach, Dec. 1-4, 2011, including most recently French couture house Christian Dior, which has drafted German glam artist Anselm Reyle to design an accessories collection. In his typical psychedelic palette, Reyle has come up with a line of metallic leather clutches and handbags with neon topstitching, colorful camouflage totes, a purple eyeshadow compact and an array of nail polishes. The bags are all adorned by a fluorescent triangle charm -- a recurring symbol in Reyle’s work.
Reyle was given “carte blanche,” the fashion house says, to create the collection, and he “played with colors, shaking up the codes of the mythical Avenue Montaigne Couture House, which offered all its savoir-faire to serve his imagination.”
The accessories are being sold in a popup boutique in the city’s design district, in the Moore Building, at 191 NE 40th Street, Nov. 28-Dec. 10, 2011. After that, the collection is available in select Dior stores, from Jan. 7 through March 2012. A bag can be yours for between $1,500 and $4,500. Smaller leather goods, such as wallets, are in the $400-$600 range.
