ADAA SHOW ANNOUNCES 2012 LINEUPNov. 10, 2011
Now competing with The Armory Show in March and Frieze New York later in the spring -- not to mention Pulse, Scope, Independent and VOLTA -- the Art Dealers Association of America has announced a slightly expanded lineup of 72 galleries for its 2012 Art Show, March 7-11, at the Park Avenue Armory.
As usual, ADAA member galleries show art from the 19th century into the present, but this year features some notable new recruits, including New York galleries Alexander and Bonin, Greene Naftali Gallery, Anton Kern Gallery and Van de Weghe Fine Art, plus San Francisco’s Crown Point Press.
Among this year’s annual series of single- and two-artist presentations, Metro Pictures is showing Cindy Sherman’s 1976 collage series “Murder Mystery,” David Zwirner is exhibiting new work by Suzan Frecon, Louise Bourgeois and Gaston Lachaise come together at Cheim & Read, Tibor de Nagy Galleryshows photos and films on the subject of New York by Rudy Burkhardt and new works from Philip Pearlstein go up at Betty Cunningham Gallery.
General admission costs $20 and benefits Lower East Side social-services nonprofit Henry Street Settlement.
