(2) Lucas Vorsterman (ii)
(bapt Antwerp, 27 May 1624; d Antwerp, 1666). Engraver, son of (1) Lucas Vorsterman (i). He was his fathers pupil and became a master in 1651/2. He produced engravings after Anthony van Dyck, Jacob Jordaens, Rubens and Cornelius Schut, as well as landscapes after Jan Peeters (162480). His works show little skill in draughtsmanship and are mechanical in execution. He supplied numerous reproductive engravings for David Teniers the youngers Theatrum pictorium (Antwerp, 1658), an illustrated catalogue of the Italian pictures in Archduke Leopold Williams collection.
