Villate, Pierre [Malebouche]

( fl 1451–95). French painter. Born in the diocese of Limoges, he is first mentioned in Avignon in 1451. His two sons Laurent Villate and François Villate were also painters. He is cited as magister and associate of ENGUERRAND QUARTON in a contract for an altarpiece in Avignon in 1452. He is last mentioned on 14 March 1495 when he stood surety for his son Laurent.
