Verberckt.

Flemish family of artists, active also in France. (1) Jacques Verberckt went to Paris, became a naturalized French subject and was the principal ornamental sculptor for the Bâtiments du Roi during the Louis XV period. Jacques’s brother (2) Michiel Verberckt and the latter’s son (3) Jan Baptist Verberckt I and grandson Jan Baptist Verberckt II (b Antwerp, 17 Jan 1774; d Antwerp, 24 Oct 1838) remained in their native Antwerp, where they worked as silversmiths in the family workshop.
