Phintias
( fl c. 520c. 500 BC). Greek vase painter and potter. Phintias signed six vases as painter and three, which he did not paint, as potter. The spelling of his name varies, suggesting that he was not highly literate. Altogether, less than 20 vases ascribed to him survive, but these display considerable variety of shape, including Type A amphorae, a pelike, a volute krater, calyx kraters, both kalpis and shoulder-type hydriai, a psykter and drinking cups.
