(3) John Vandergucht

(b London, 1697; d London, ?1732). Illustrator, son of (1) Michael Vandergucht. His brief artistic career began with training under his father and Louis Chéron. Among his works were engravings after William Hogarth, Bartholomew Dandridge and others for an English edition of Molière (Select Comedies, 1732) and designs for William Cheselden’s Osteologie (1733). He was also reported to have been a caricaturist.
