Tricht, Arnt van

( fl c. 1530; d Kalkar, 1570). Netherlandish sculptor and wood-carver. He established himself as a sculptor in Kalkar c. 1530, succeeding Henrik Douvermann (c. 1480–c. 1530), by whom he was probably trained. He presumably came from Utrecht, as the style of his work, especially the characteristic heads and the stylish clothing of the figures, is related to that of other Utrecht sculptors, in particular the influential Master of the Stone Female Head ( fl 1520s).
