(4) Christian Wilhelm Tischbein
(b Marburg an der Lahn, 2 May 1751; d Schmiedeberg, 31 July 1824). Architect, draughtsman and painter, nephew of (1) Johann Heinrich Tischbein I and cousin to (2) Friedrich and (3) Wilhelm. He trained with members of his family in Hamburg and studied architecture in Breslau [Wroclaw]. He was drawing-teacher to the children of Reichsgraf Hans Heinrich IV von Hochberg-Fürstenstein in Silesia (17812) and served briefly as Gallery Director for Herzog Erdmann von Braunschweig-Oels zu Oels. He was Building Director for the Reichsgraf from 1790; he produced room decorations, portraits, landscape designs and various small decorative structures and utilitarian estate buildings.
